Born in 1968 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Felix Rios is a visual artist currently based in Miami, Florida. From a young age, he demonstrated a deep passion and appreciation for art and design, which ultimately shaped his academic and artistic pursuits. Rios began his formal education by earning an Architectural Drawing Associate Degree at the Liceo de Arte y Tecnología de Puerto Rico. This foundational training laid the groundwork for his later exploration into artistic expression through interior design. He furthered his studies in this field at the Miami International University of Arts and Design, refining his eye for spatial composition and aesthetic harmony. In 2020, Rios expanded his artistic horizons by studying geometric abstraction painting under the guidance of artist and professor Guillermo García-Cruz at the Abstract Art School S35 in Madrid, Spain. This experience deepened his understanding of form, shape, and the interplay of elements within abstract art. Parallel to his formal education, Rios engaged in artistic coaching sessions with Venezuelan curator Katherine Chacón, refining his artistic voice and conceptual approach. In 2021, he marked a significant milestone with his first solo exhibition at IMAGO Art in Action in Miami, showcasing a body of work that reflects his evolving exploration of geometric abstraction. Felix Rios's art has garnered attention and acclaim, leading to his work being included in various private and public collections across Puerto Rico, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Panama, France, and Italy. His pieces resonate with viewers for their harmonious compositions, precise geometric forms, and evocative use of color.

My artistic journey is a fusion of lifelong passions for design, geometry, and the exploration of abstract forms. Growing up in Puerto Rico, surrounded by vibrant colors and rich cultural heritage, I developed a deep appreciation for aesthetics from an early age. This appreciation led me to pursue studies in Architectural Drawing and later Interior Design, where I honed my skills in spatial composition and the harmonious interplay of elements. I dive deep into the intricate dance between precision and expression, where mathematical rigor meets artistic flair. My canvases become a stage for a symphony of color, proportion, and texture, meticulously orchestrated to evoke emotions and provoke thought. Through a process rooted in mathematical sketching and refined through paint and fabric, I craft a visual narrative that speaks volumes. The dialogue between smooth canvases and textured fabrics invites tactile exploration, offering a sensory journey through layers of emotion and meaning. Each stroke, each cut, contributes to a poetic tapestry that invites viewers to immerse themselves in a world where art and emotion intertwine, creating a space for contemplation and appreciation of the beauty that surrounds us. Influenced by the precision of geometric patterns and the mathematical elegance of the Fibonacci sequence, my work seeks to capture moments of balance and rhythm. Inspired by the architectural polychromy of Le Corbusier and the minimalistic aesthetics that define modern design, my art is a reflection of my quest for clarity and harmony in a complex world. It is my hope that through my work, viewers find moments of serenity and inspiration, connecting with the universal language of shape and color that speaks to the essence of human experience.
